B.A., Cultural Anthropology (2003)

How has being a Cultural Anthropology graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?

"CA helped develop my critical thinking skills and gave me a greater perspective on behaviors and norms. I found the major fascinating and looked forward to my studies. I would urge any student to pursue an academic course that truly interests you regardless of whether you can see a direct tie to a career path you might pursue."

What advice would you give students in Cultural Anthropology?

"Cultural anthropologists are gaining greater relevance in today’s business world and so I would advise a CA student to engage with the international aspects of the major but also to engage with the coursework that relates to better understanding our own culture from a more objective perspective."
