At the end of the first and second Summer semesters of preliminary fieldwork, students will Summer Field Report.
Summer Field Reports summarize research activities, highlight key insights and takeaways that emerged through ethnographic research, and reflect on how the summer's experiences inform your wider dissertation project. These reports will be used to anchor conversations with your chair, committee members, and other Duke-side interlocutors and may be integrated into CULANTH 803S Ethnography and CULANTH 804S Grant Writing.
Summer Field Reports should be written by filling in the template available in the Cultural Anthropology PhD - Forms and Files Box folder. To submit your report, send it by email to the DGS and your advisor (CCing the DGSA). You may optionally include your other committee members. For your second year Summer Field Report, include the instructor of the Grant Writing course.
