The Ernestine Friedl Building

SCIENCE BUILDING / DUKE ART MUSEUM / FRIEDL BUILDING | Open Durham

In 2008, the East Campus Building (photo above) with many names was dedicated in honor of Duke University Cultural Anthropology Professor Emerita Ernestine P. Friedl. It has previously been known as the Science Building (which is carved in marble just under the pediment), the Art Museum, the Old Art Museum (when the Nasher was built) and then Science once more.
