How has being a Cultural Anthropology graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?

"Helped me understand the world in a unique way that went beyond the obvious; always asking questions about why things are the way they are; experience the world as fieldwork"

What advice would you give students in Cultural Anthropology?

"Duke is a special time that allows you to explore topics and subjects that you don't have the luxury of spending time on once you graduate. You can always learn how to write a public policy memo or build an Excel model later. Take the time and enjoy being able to engage in incredible text and intellectual scholarship, read and write, and think about big, meaty abstract topics. You may find yourself accused of being part of a major that is "impractical" but Culanth's lifetime utility cannot be underestimated. This major has profoundly helped me understand how people and society work, and that has been invaluable."
