"Cultural Anthropology helped me hone my critical thinking skill, build cultural awareness and competency. It's helped me build a career where I have been privileged to work effectively with people from all over the world. And most importantly, it's helped me shape a livelihood that I can feel is bettering the earth in a complex time."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Cultural Anthropology programs? 

"Be true to yourself. Identify people around and in history who you admire and what you admire about them. Then strive to be like them."
